Laced heart necklace.
Using a tutorial from Ornamentea, I made this laced heart necklace. I used Elaine Ray and druk beads, waxed linen and a lock and key toggle set. Since I am new to this whole jewelry making game, this was my first time beading this way. It was quick and simple necklace to make.

Chain, Leather and Bead Necklace
I took a class at our local bead shop, Ornamentea, tonight and made a rad new necklace. I really learned a lot of techniques that I am anxious to try out on my own!
We primarily used a local artist, Elaine Ray's beads. They are absolutely beautiful. I want to make a million more necklaces using her beads! We learned wire wrapping leather, using cone ends, leather weaving through chain, simple loops, wire wrapped loops, and made our own clasp.

A coat hanger!
I had an order for a jewelry hanger already! Except this one is to be used for coats. I only used three knobs and put heavier duty hardware on the back. I hope she likes it!

Necklace Hanger
I found a necklace hanger on Like a Saturday's blog and was inspired to make one for myself. My current jewelry box is too small for my many necklaces. It is also hard to see them at a glance.
Matt and I went to Lowes and bought a board and paint samples in an orangish color and yellowish color. We cut the boards down to 15 inch sections, drilled holes for the knobs and sanded the edges down. I bought a selection of knobs from Hobby Lobby for 50% off.
I think that they turned out great and I am going to make a couple more!
